*Gary Lineker
"I know that the work of Leukaemia Research scientists helped save the life of my son, George. Michelle and I are proud to support a charity that is doing so much to help children and adults living with these terrible diseases."

Gary Lineker
*

Gary Lineker is one of England's sporting heroes. From his achievements on the pitch through to his current role as TV's favourite pundit, he is one of the most instantly recognisable people around.

On the pitch, his hugely impressive footballing career saw him running out for hometown Leicester City, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and, of course, as England captain. He also played abroad in Spain and Japan. Gary was never sent off in the course of his career.

Following his retirement from football in 1992, Gary has shone in his new career as host of BBC1's Match of the Day and starring in a series of ads for Walker's crisps.

Gary and Michelle have been involved with us since their first son, George, was diagnosed with leukaemia more than fifteen years ago. George has three younger brothers.

Gary was awarded the OBE in 1992.
