*Relapse
**
**
*Sometimes even if chemotherapy seems to have cured a person's cancer, some cancer cells can survive and cause a relapse.
If this happens doctors have to come up with alternative treatment ideas that might work better. These can be:

*Different combinations of drugs

*New drugs or therapies

*Intensive chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant

"Over a year after I was first diagnosed my disease relapsed. I'd had chemotherapy but that hadn't worked so I needed intensive treatment and a stem cell transplant. I was away from home and my girlfriend for a month; this was the worst time in my treatment but I've been disease-free ever since"
