* for experts Relevant to nurses in haematology, highlighting the current and new treatments for Myeloma patients.

This is an in depth review of multiple myeloma, which takes the reader from normal B cell development, through the malignant changes which take place in myeloma.

Cytogenetics are considered discussing the characteristic chromosomal abnormalities, the authors also consider oncogenic events including the mutation of p53 and the role of cytokines. Bone lesions are explained and therapies mentioned.

Although this is an in depth review it can be utilised as a reference tool to be read in its entirety or selected sections.
